Titanium constitutes 0.6% of the Earth's crust. It occurs as rutile, ilmenite,
ilmenite. It is very light and strong and fairly corrosion resistant. Its use
as a structural metal is increasing. It is extremly reactive with both oxyegn,
and nitrogen. In steel this metal is ferrititanium. Its principal uses are as
special gears and tools.
