Winterizing Your Roses
Roses for Dummies -- Generally, if you live where winter temperatures predictably reach 10 degrees F (–12 degrees C), many of the most popular roses — such as hybrid teas, floribundas, grandifloras, and climbers — need some kind of protection to survive the winter. Miniature roses and shrubs are generally somewhat hardier, with many shrub and species roses being hardier still. Luckily, protecting roses is not a difficult task.

But until then you'll be faced with the daunting task of photographing whole hillsides of colourful leaves. Why is it daunting? Because what overwhelms you in person may well underwhelm you in a picture. Your challenge is not to convey the majesty but the mood, not every single leaf but the essence of a leaf.

How many bloggers in Oklahoma?
I was asked this today
I am trying to find out how many blogs (at least a rough estimate) that are based in Oklahoma.
That is a good question.

I'm sure its going to be in the thousands, but I don't know if there is a good way to find this out.

With so many blogging services, free or otherwise, out there it may be unlikely to find all from Oklahoma.

I can tell you that there are 97 members of the Blog Oklahoma web ring, and each of those members also link to other Oklahoma bloggers.

If you can think of a way to estimate it, please drop me a line.
