Winterizing Your Roses
Roses for Dummies -- Generally, if you live where winter temperatures predictably reach 10 degrees F (–12 degrees C), many of the most popular roses — such as hybrid teas, floribundas, grandifloras, and climbers — need some kind of protection to survive the winter. Miniature roses and shrubs are generally somewhat hardier, with many shrub and species roses being hardier still. Luckily, protecting roses is not a difficult task.

But until then you'll be faced with the daunting task of photographing whole hillsides of colourful leaves. Why is it daunting? Because what overwhelms you in person may well underwhelm you in a picture. Your challenge is not to convey the majesty but the mood, not every single leaf but the essence of a leaf.

How many bloggers in Oklahoma?
I was asked this today
I am trying to find out how many blogs (at least a rough estimate) that are based in Oklahoma.
That is a good question.

I'm sure its going to be in the thousands, but I don't know if there is a good way to find this out.

With so many blogging services, free or otherwise, out there it may be unlikely to find all from Oklahoma.

I can tell you that there are 97 members of the Blog Oklahoma web ring, and each of those members also link to other Oklahoma bloggers.

If you can think of a way to estimate it, please drop me a line.

What is Impeachment?
wikipedia.org -- Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body formally levels charges against a high official of government. Impeachment does not necessarily mean removal from office; it comprises only a formal statement of charges, akin to an indictment in criminal law, and thus forms only the first step towards removal. Once an individual is impeached, he or she must then face the possibility of conviction via legislative vote, which then entails the removal of the individual from office.

The History Place -- The United States Constitution states in Article II, Section 4: "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Thus far in the history of the United States there been three Presidential impeachment proceedings -- in 1868 against President Andrew Johnson for his removal of Secretary of War Edwin Stanton in violation of the Tenure of Office Act - 1974 against President Richard Richard Nixon for the Watergate coverup (106 years after Johnson) - 1998-99 against President Bill Clinton for concealing an extramarital affair (24 years after Nixon).

Both Tea And No Tea - Updated Hitchhiker's Game
Slashdot -- To coincide with the new radio series of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the BBC will be reviving the old Infocom Hitchhiker's text adventure game, to appear on Radio 4's website. It's not just a straight port, either - apparently 'the new version of the game will be illustrated by Rod Lord, who won a BAFTA for his graphics for the original Hitchhiker TV series.' Hoopy!

Jakks TV Games Atari Paddle Reviewed
Gizmodo -- I like these all-in-one TV games systems as much as the next guy - I think they're a neat throwback to the pixels of yore, and they price is right - but kept wondering why they were releasing them without the ability for two people to play at the same time. So many of these great old games were best played when screaming at a friend, trying to distract them long enough to surreptitiously wiggle their joystick cable just loose enough from the console to make their paddle go dead. The new Jakks TV Atari Paddle goes one better - you can actually disconnect Player Two right from Player One's paddle. It's a great new feature, but one that they for some reason neglect to mention in this TIME Magazine review.
